Following the reception and site visit, the technical sessions started at approximately 6.00 pm. Several speakers shared their expertise and experience:

• Bruno Deraedt, an architect specialising in timber‑frame construction, provided an architectural and practice‑oriented perspective on building with wood.
• Arnas Januska (VMG Lignum) explained aspects of wood technology and materials used in structural applications.
• Jo Maebe (Gutex) introduced wood fibre insulation, a solution recently added to the range, in the context of innovation and sustainable construction materials.

Together, these contributions offered participants a comprehensive view of timber‑frame construction, from design through to execution and material choice.

Site visit and networking moment

Prior to the presentations, participants took part in a site visit at Vasco da Gamalaan in Ghent, located on the premises of AC Timber Trading. This visit provided practical context to the materials and solutions discussed during the sessions.

The evening concluded with a networking moment with catering, encouraging further exchange between participants, speakers and the team of Hout‑Bois van Steenberge.
