Pine

Grenen 2
Grenen 1

Pine is, after Scandinavian Whitewood, one of the most widely used softwood species worldwide. In its kiln‑dried (KD) variant, Pine is technically dried to achieve greater dimensional stability, improved durability and more consistent quality compared to air‑dried material. Thanks to its natural resin content, warm appearance and favourable price level, KD Pine is a versatile softwood suitable for both interior and exterior applications.

The heartwood ranges from dark yellow to reddish‑brown, contrasting with the pale yellow sapwood.

  • Qualities

    Advantages of KD Pine

    • Technically dried for increased stability
KD drying ensures a more stable moisture content, reduced deformation and superior dimensional accuracy — ideal for applications where precision and aesthetics are important.
    • Resin‑rich character & warm appearance
Pine features a straight grain, fine to moderately coarse texture and a naturally warm colour palette ranging from pale yellow to dark yellow and reddish‑brown.
    • Distinctive knot structure
Pine typically contains larger, harder knots than spruce, giving it a characteristic and expressive natural look.
    • Favourable price & broad availability
Thanks to extensive forest resources across Northern and Eastern Europe, Pine is a cost‑efficient, strong and versatile softwood.
    • Excellent workability
Easy to saw, sand, mill and paint, making it suitable for a wide range of carpentry and finishing tasks.
    • Outstanding sapwood treatability
Pine sapwood is highly permeable and therefore ideal for durable exterior applications when impregnated.
      (Heartwood is moderately to non‑permeable.)
  • Applications

Depending on the required grade and finish, Pine can be used for numerous professional applications:

    • Profiles & mouldings
Stable and easy to machine — ideal for interior finishing.
    • Staircases & flooring
Strong, wear‑resistant and naturally warm in colour.
    • Furniture & interior joinery
Suitable for custom‑made furniture, cabinetry, decorative elements and visible joinery.
    • Exterior joinery & cladding
With impregnation or thermal modification, Pine is suitable for exterior applications.
    • Ceilings & wall panelling
Light in weight, easy to mount and visually appealing.
    • Exterior applications (with protection)
Thanks to the excellent impregnability of the sapwood, Pine is widely used for:
      • façade profiles
      • exterior joinery
      • garden structures
      • decking (after modification or treatment)
