Kiln‑dried Larch belongs to the harder softwood species and is significantly more stable, durable and dimensionally consistent than air‑dried material. Through controlled technical drying (KD – Kiln Dried), the wood achieves a stable moisture content, reduced movement and improved performance for demanding applications.

Larch features a fine texture, natural durability (class 3–4) and a warm colour palette ranging from pale yellow to pinkish hues to deep reddish‑brown tones. Due to its higher density and limited amount of permeable sapwood, Lariks KD is ideal for high‑quality interior and exterior applications where dimensional stability is essential.

  • Qualities

    Advantages of Larch KD

    • Maximum stability through technical drying
KD‑dried Larch maintains a stable moisture level, resulting in reduced movement, fewer surface cracks and excellent dimensional accuracy — superior to air‑dried alternatives.
    • Distinct grain & natural aesthetic
Larch displays a characterful, flame‑like grain pattern with colour variation from pale yellow to pinkish to reddish‑brown. When exposed to weather, it naturally weathers to an elegant silver‑grey tone.
    • High density (± 670 kg/m³)
This makes Larch exceptionally strong and durable, delivering excellent performance in structural and exterior applications.
    • Limited sapwood content
Compared to Pine, Larch contains less sapwood, improving resistance to moisture, fungi and insects.
    • Natural durability
Durability class 3, occasionally class 4 depending on growth region and specific batches.
    • Excellent for exterior applications
Thanks to its resin content and density, KD Larch is suitable for façades, decking, exterior joinery and high‑performance outdoor structures.
  • Applications

Thanks to its dimensional stability and natural durability, KD Larch is ideal for applications requiring strength, aesthetics and long‑term performance:

    • Flooring & staircases
Strong, wear‑resistant and warm in appearance.
    • Frames & exterior joinery
Suitable for windows, exterior doors and structural joinery due to its density and moisture resistance.
    • Façade cladding & exterior carpentry
Highly valued for both modern and traditional façades thanks to its durability, resin content and uniform greying process.
    • Furniture & interior projects
The fine grain and stable drying make it suitable for custom interior work and visible applications.
    • Decking & fencing
Ideal for terraces, garden structures and exterior screens due to its natural durability and resistance.
