Fire-retardant panels are fire-retardant and moisture-resistant construction panels for structural applications, which can be made from chipboard, MDF or plywood.

Qualities
These are MUF bonded, fire-retardant boards that are very suitable for structural applications in damp spaces.
These panels only show a minimal expansion and swelling under high humidity, but it is nonetheless necessary that they are protected against direct contact with water.
Applications
Fire-retardant panels can be used in service classes 1 and 2 (limited in temperature and humidity), are suitable for biological risk classes 1 and 2 of standard EN 335-3.
Technical specifications
They also have strong fire-retardant properties (European standard class B-s2, d0) which mean the panels will extinguish themselves automatically and do not glow after the heat source has been removed. Furthermore, the panels maintain their mechanical strength for a long time during a fire.
