Administrative Assistant Compliance

The European holding company Van Steenberge Invest groups together several companies that import, process, and supply wood from around the world to professional wood traders and the industry in Belgium and Europe. The group also includes Alfa Shirt, which customizes and embroiders textiles. We are a family-run company in full expansion.

We are looking for an: Administrative Assistant Compliance

What does your role involve?
As an administrative assistant in our compliance department, your responsibilities will include:
- Providing daily support to the compliance officer and the purchasing team regarding product compliance with EU regulations (EUDR), product and process certifications (FSC, PEFC, CE, ISPM15);
- Assisting in identifying processes that do not meet the guidelines and helping to implement improvements;
- Analyzing and processing supplier information (EUDR);
- Carrying out tasks related to the release of products (EUDR import and export);
- Supporting the management of suppliers and supplier qualification;
- Preparing internal audits related to product certification schemes (FSC / PEFC / CE / SIPM15);
- Collaborating daily with various departments, primarily purchasing, sales, and logistics.

What profile are we looking for?
- You have a bachelor's degree (a specialization in Wood Technology is a significant plus, but not required) or you have relevant work experience.
- A junior candidate with ambition and a strong desire to learn is also very welcome.
- You are precise, strong in organization and planning, and enjoy meeting deadlines.
- You have good communication skills (both oral and written).
- You see problems as challenges to solve.
- You speak and write fluently in Dutch, English, and French (Spanish and Portuguese are a nice-to-have).
- You are proficient with computers.
- You enjoy assisting your colleagues where needed and have a practical mindset.
- Do you work in a customer-oriented manner and have a legal insight?
- Prior knowledge in audits is a plus.
